Background
Ahmad Shahrin is a PhD candidate at SOASCIS. His research title is ‘Islamic Approach to Counselling in Secondary Schools to alleviate from Obesity.’ He graduated in Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce with double majors in Management and in Marketing. He is now an Education Officer with the Ministry of Education and had also completed his Post Graduate Certificate in Education to teach Secondary Commerce. After some time, he had proceeded to further his studies in Counselling in Universiti Brunei Darussalam. This enabled him to seriously consider Islamic counselling as a calling to which he is now in that line, giving out counselling techniques and using of various Quranic verses and hadiths in his counselling sessions.
